BeyondMissing is dedicated to protecting America's children. We are a nonprofit public
benefit corporation, 501 (c) (3), incorporated in the state of California on March 22, 2001.
BeyondMissing was founded by Marc Klaas on June 8, 2001.
Marc Klaas began to pursue an aggressive child safety agenda for the nation's children
following the kidnap and murder of his twelve year old daughter Polly.
Mr. Klaas provides the vision and the day to day leadership for our organization.

Historically funded by a U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Program grant (OJJDP),
BeyondMissing provides law enforcement agencies with a secure, Internet based system to
create and distribute missing child flyers to law enforcement, the media, and public and
private recipients. There is no cost to agencies for this service and no proprietary
hardware or software required.
The BeyondMissing on-line tools:
- allow Registered law enforcement agencies to immediately construct and distribute graphic/text
Amber Alert flyers via email, fax and text messaging to pre-populated database of agencies within a 200 mile radial area of the abduction.
(Registered users of BeyondMissing will be responsible for following Amber Alert protocols established within their agency, region or state
when distributing an Amber Alert flyer.)
- allow Registered law enforcement agencies to create and distribute English/Spanish language
Abduction Alert or Missing Child Alert flyers via email, fax and SMS text messaging to
BeyondMissing's pre-populated database of law enforcement agencies and media up to a 200 mile radius
from the point of abduction. Additional "targeted" distributions can also be made.
- allow parents to create a Missing Child flyer in English/Spanish of their missing child.
Mission
To aid in the recovery of abducted and missing children by providing high speed, cost effective
communication tools to law enforcement and the communities they serve. Our only priority is
missing children.

BeyondMissing.com flyer creation and distribution tools have been incorporated into the Texas
statewide Amber Alert Network since October of 2002. All Texas law enforcement agencies and
the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) have the ability to instantaneously create and
distribute Amber Alert and Local Amber Alert photo flyers of missing children.
BeyondMissing.com Amber Alert tools have been utilized by the California Highway Patrol (CHP)
and incorporated into the Bernalillo County, New Mexico Amber Alert plan.

BeyondMissing has issued 1,073,000 faxes, 358,350 emails and over 16,100 text messages to
